Details

Returning to the house where his family was brutally murdered during the war, 'the man who refuses to die' dismantles it, loads it on a truck, and is determined to rebuild it somewhere safe in their honor. When the Red Army commander who killed his family comes back hellbent on finishing the job, a relentless, eye-popping cross-country chase ensues — a fight to the death.

Parents Guide

  • Sex None

A man is shown shirtless and we see his bare shoulders, chest, abdomen and back covered with numerous scars.

  • Violence Severe

Frequent graphic violence, which includes shootings, stabbings, a decapitation, explosions, fistfights, and blood spurts.

A man is struck repeatedly with a red-hot whip, causing deep bloody lacerations across his back.

There is sight of charred and bloodstained bodies.

Body parts are visible in the aftermath of explosions.

A soldier checks on a captive prisoner and is bisected with a knife (off-screen). When his partner knocks on the door, he's apparently alive and "nods" through the hatch, but when opened the prisoner is holding his upper torso and his intestines fall out (brief and played for humour).

A soldier's fingers are shot off with a machine gun - we see the injury in close-up as he screams, before being killed with a headshot which blows off the back of his skull.

Most of the violence is darkly comic in tone, and intended to be funny or entertaining rather than disturbing.

The hero kills a soldier by repeatedly stabbing him in the head. This happens through the underside of his hammock, hiding any injury, and is only done in self-defense after they make eye contact, so that he can't alert the other soldiers of the hero's presence.

When sneaking past a carriage of sleeping soldiers, the hero is injured by various painful objects, including his feet by a smashed glass bottle, and his fingers by a mousetrap after hiding under a bed (played for humour, as he has to remain silent to avoid waking them up).

  • Profanity Moderate

F word is used about 7 time.

6 Uses of the F Word.

  • Drugs Mild

Men drink shots of liquor in a train car, and a man drinks from a bottle.

  • Frightening Scenes Severe

    People are threatened with weapons.

A man and his dog are at risk of drowning.
