What earned the score

  • He/Him pronouns nameplate gag

The trailer includes a 'He/Him' pronouns gag on Prince Adam's desk nameplate, intended as a pun on He-Man but pandering to contemporary gender ideology.

  • Teela's Adoption of Masculinity as Trauma Response

Teela adopts masculine traits as a trauma response to survive in a world dominated by toxic masculinity, particularly influenced by her father's scarred upbringing, pushing a feminist trauma narrative onto her warrior archetype.

  • Villain Personifies Toxic Masculinity

The primary antagonist, Skeletor, is explicitly described as the embodiment of toxic masculinity, framing masculine power as the central disease to be confronted.

  • Race-swapped legacy characters

Idris Elba, a Black actor, portrays the traditionally white Man-At-Arms (Duncan), and Camila Mendes, a Latina actress, portrays the red-haired Teela, altering their racial appearances from the original source material as part of forced diversity.

  • Adam as loser office worker under DEI boss

Prince Adam's Earth-based corporate drudgery mocks traditional masculinity by portraying the pre-transformation prince as a 'loser' office worker under a DEI boss, emasculating the character before his heroic destiny.
