  The character Gregory Scarpa is a mafia FBI heavy hitter, with no limits on what he is allowed to do. He tortures many townspeople and Klan members to get information. This includes breaking kneecaps with a bat, shooting people, using a knife, and using his fists to inflict maximum pain. It is very graphic, showing the severe physical trauma the characters sustain.

  There is a Cross Burning that burns down Vernon Dahmer's (Giancarlo Esposito) house. While the house is burning, the KKK are shooting into his house. In an attempt to stave them off and to save his wife and young children, he trades gunfire. He breathes in too much smoke, is caught on fire, and burns to death on his back lawn.
