Anti-DEI Politics Caricatured
The white Christian female vice president wants to abolish DEI because its letters appear in “DEVIL,” reducing opposition to DEI to a religiously absurd punchline.
Female Strategist Directs Homelander
Sister Sage, presented as the world’s smartest woman and Vought’s CEO, serves as the strategic brain behind Homelander’s operation, with even the most powerful man on Earth operating under her direction.
Men Made Disposable
The men are characterized as weak or killed horrifically for comedy, while the female characters are described as functionally invincible. The gendered contrast turns male suffering into a running gag and gives women an outsize advantage.
Assault as Feminist Catalyst
The Deep sexually assaults Starlight, and the assault helps drive her break with Homelander’s team; the series uses her experience as part of its #MeToo commentary.
Spoiler Reveals a plot point
Racist Villainy Condemned
Stormfront delivers racist commentary, and the series identifies her as a Nazi. Her characterization ties racist ideology to villainy rather than presenting it as a neutral political position.
Women as Superpowered Fighters
Kimiko is a super-strong, lethal member of the vigilante team, while Starlight and other women also occupy superhero combat roles. The series places women in traditionally male-coded roles as fighters and protectors.
Christianity as Political Ridicule
Annie’s arc moves from a Christian upbringing to declaring that there is nobody in the sky and that it was all lies, while Sister Sage mocks God as a “magic sky ghost.” The series makes the rejection and ridicule of Christian faith part of its recurring cynical political outlook.
MAGA Rally as Authoritarian Spectacle
A shareholder crowd chanting “USA! USA!” is framed as a MAGA rally amid Homelander’s consolidation of control, casting conservative-coded patriotism as part of the authoritarian threat.
Details

Parents Guide
Sex Severe
Continuous Sexual Fetishes depict a male's lustful explicit breastfeeding from lactating females & a male's sexual proclivity to have explicit sex with a creature from the sea.
One episode in season 3 is based on an explicit orgy plot. It contains a fair amount of nudity for around a third of the episode.
A man exposes himself to a woman against her consent. You see his bare buttocks briefly from behind. He threatens the woman into performing a sexual favor for him. The sexual act is not seen on camera, but afterwards the woman appears distraught and is crying about what happened.
A superhero has the power of invisibility, but he must be naked in order to remain unseen. He repeatedly hides in a bathroom using his invisibility in order to pervertedly spy on the women who are using the bathroom. In one scene, a woman calls him out for lurking in the bathroom and the man turns himself visible. He then appears standing in the bathroom fully nude - you see full frontal nudity for a few seconds while he leaves the bathroom.
2 men watch pornographic movies together. You clearly see a topless woman with large fake breasts squeezing and fondling her breasts while riding on top of a man (genitalia not visible). One man reads out loud dirty titles of pornograhic movies as he flips through DVDs.
Some penile CGI graphics are depicted throughout.
In season 4, there is a character than can make duplicates of himself. However, the duplicates are all naked, and you see full frontal nudity.
In an exceedingly vile scene, A man that can change his size turns small and enters another man's genitalia. Nudity for both men is shown. He sneezes and expands.
Violence Severe
A super powered character cuts an airplane in half, killing every passenger.
A man dies by an explosion emanating from a bomb in his rectum. Very bloody and gory.
A woman crushes a man's head by sitting on it for cunnigulus. Blood and brains are seen.
A woman attacks and kills a group of men in various ways, each of them are very graphic and bloody, including her ripping a man's face off cleanly.
A-Train gets hit in the leg and blood is shown.
One supe blows up in a building and kills many people.
Homelander kills a bunch of people in a building. Very graphic and a bit disturbing. He mostly uses his laser vision, cutting people apart with it. Near the end he lasers off a guy's legs and smashes his head with his boot. It isn't shown, but you can still hear it. After he leaves the building, he lasers another guy in half from a distance.
The Female gets attacked by a man in a building but when she escapes, her nails are shown with blood on them.
Starlight saves Hughie and punches a few people in the face.
A character's eyes are burned out with an energy beam.
Profanity Severe
f**k, c**t, s**t, and d**k are used nonstop alongside lesser profanity like b**ch and ass as well as racial slurs and obscene gestures.
Billy Butcher is known for saying "f**king diabolical" He repeats this many times in every episode as well as other characters using more severe foul language such as "slag" "d**k" and more.
Language is usually often mentioned by Billy Butcher and Homelander.
Season 1: 400 F-words and 23 C-words, season 2: 373 F-words and 29 C-words, season 3: 474 F-words and 21 C-words, season 4: 537 F-words and 22 C-words, season 5: 599 F-words and 33 C-words Therefore, there are a total of 2383 F-words and 128 C-words.
"c**t" is used constantly by Butcher.
In an exceedingly vile scene, A man that can change his size turns small and enters another man's genitalia. Nudity for both men is shown. He sneezes and expands.
Drugs Severe
Amphetamines, alcohol, benzodiazepine, cannabis, carfentanyl, cocaine, heroin, Ketamine, LSD, MDMA, opiate, Rohypnol, injections of a fictional drug called Compound V/Temp V, tobacco, and hallucinogenic mushroom use.
Not much drugs shown in season 1 but as then as the show progresses drugs and smoking ate seen more often.
Frightening Scenes Severe
Some superheroes fail to rescue an airplane, resulting in the deaths of many passengers. This scene may be upsetting to sensitive viewers.
Some of the super heroes have mental health crisis' and lash out violently, this could disturb sensitive viewers.
Themes of suicide may upset sensitive viewers.
Graphic killings of marine animals may upset some viewers.
Homelander chases A-Train and kills him by snapping his neck by the end of Episode 1 of Season 5.
Soldier-Boy is infected by the Supe Virus but survives in the end. 2 other supes are killed from it.
While the scene looks friendly and fun, there is a cartoon sequence in Season 3 reminiscent of Noir's traumatic past with soldier boy, which could be super intense and upsetting for viewers.
The character Homelander is an extremely frightening and disturbing presence, being a narcissistic, sadistic sociopath with a God complex and the emotional and mental maturity of a school bully who pleasures himself in hurting others. As such, every scene with him is unsettling, to say the least.
Butcher's dog Terror dies offscreen.
Homelander's death is intense but satisfying.
